This morning i had to conduct an interview for a clerk for the new company. Actually i hate to interview other people.I'm not the boss,yet i had to do this & finally my boss decided the suitable candidate based on my opinion.The problem is,sometimes i make a wrong judgement.Actually this is not my first time i interviewed people.
Why do i hate interview others?Bcoz from my experience,they're just a bunch of liar.I mean,most of them (base on our last staffs) were zero.During the interview,they honestly said they can do all the tasks we asked.But when its time to do the job,they went blank.Even last time,there was one clerk who said she used to work as a clerk & she familiar with computer.She even had computer certificates as a prove.But when she started her job,the truth has been revealed.Yes,she used to work as a clerk for private college BUT only for 1 week & during the whole week,her only task was handling the booth during an eduaction exhibition.The certs?It were only certificates,produced by a computer center to all the children of 'peneroka felda'.Sad to say,she only knew the computer itself & did a few simple typing.I was so furious bcoz' she lied to me.I'm the one who recruited her.She was my fiance's friend's friend.I trusted her,yet she lied.I had to do my task & taught her everything at the same time.This is not a learning center.
That was not the last.My second & third assistants were almost the same.During the interview,they told a very good story of their experience.They even admit they owned professional certificates,yet when it came to do the task,they failed.It's not that i have a very high expectations but who can blame me if i got furious when they can't even type a simple letter?& the third one said she had lcci diploma & used to work as an account clerk in a hotel but when i ordered her to complete a simple account (debit & credit),she failed.Her reason,she worked in different industry last time.I was furious bcoz' finally i had to do all the works.I became angrier bcoz' i had to do the same tasks twice.To make thing worst when my boss complaint the outcome.I had to carry on others fault.How awful....

Last year,we were urgently needed a qs (quantity surveyor) as our last qs resigned w/o notice.So,our site engineer recruited her friend's fiance.This time my boss gave him fully permission to interview her as she was going to work at the site office under his supervision.She demanded high salary bcoz' she had a degree.A week after she started her job,her certificates & resume came to my table.I was so shocked to see her qualification & work experience.She was a fresh graduate from a private university with bachelor degree in information system.Previously she worked as a qc for a IT company.Yes,she used to work for a construction company but it was 4 or 5 years ago after her spm & she worked there as a general clerk for only a few months.So,what was the relevent between her qualification & experience with our post?We need a qs,not a qc.She had a degree,but in IT,not quantitative field.It was totally different.May be she was confused & can't differentiate between qc & qs.May be she thought the post has the same responsibility with her previous task.
When my boss knew the real situation,he asked her to do simple & basic task usually done by a qs.She looked panic at first,then she said she's going to do the task when she went home as she forgot how to do it & all her notes were at home.Almost a week after that,she still failed to do it.So,my boss tested her again,this time a very basic thing;read a plan.Funny to say,she went blank.Finally she cried & admitted that she can't do it.She lied about her skills as she was devasted to get a job as she's going to get married soon & needed money.Felt ashamed with her lie,she resigned on that very day.
The moral behind the story,u can lie but please lie with flying colors.Lie brilliantly.I know,we can't be very honest in everything including in getting a job.We even told to exegarate a little bit with our skills in our resume but please make sure we know about our lies.For example,a non-medical background person can't simply said he/she can operate sick people.Please study first b4 we lied as we don't know when will we had to face our lies.
