3rd October 2008 - An accident happened at the site project which my husband supervised.It happened at noon when one of our general worker fell down from 3rd floor.He was taken to the hospital immediately by my boss's son.He was injured as he was treated in the ER & then put into observation room for the whole night.He was discharged yesterday evening.He lost most of his front teeth.Luckily the doctor said he has no fracture bone.The doctor said it's a miracle to fall down from that high with no badly injury.Luckily when he fell down,there only woods on the ground.What if he fell on onto the steels or concrete piles?The damage may be harmful.I can't imagine it.
How did happened?My husband didn't exactly how it happened bcoz' on that time he was doing daily report at his site office.Suddenly he heard screaming & noisy voice.When he went to that place,he say that man was laying down,bleeding.My boss told my husband to call the ambulance but then he asked my boss's son to sent that man by themselves as the hospital asked them to make a police report first.
It's not that they didn't want to make the report but a lot of problems will happened after that bcoz' it'll involved many party such as the CIDB, JKR, Immigration, etc.That man is indonesian & he has a working permit BUT his working permit was under other company's name.It's illegal to work for the employer other than stated in the permit.Then there was no safety measures taken at the site.All the workers didn't wear any safety helmet, safety shoes (they wore rubber shoe & few of them just wore slippers).They should wear safety harness while doing their work at high level place, but there aren't any safety harness at the site.My husband said there even no safety kit at the site even though the employer should provide it as stated in the tender agreement.So,there are a lot of wrongdoing done.Surely the work will be stopped for a few days or weeks for investigation.& the person who have to answer to this problems are my husband as the person incharge & the main-contractor as the owner of the project.While my boss are safe as he is only the unnominated sub-contractor.
